As Sothys celebrates its remarkable 80-year heritage around the world in 2026, proud New Zealand distributors de Spa Cosmetics marked the occasion in style, hosting a memorable evening on Friday 18th September at the stunning Christchurch Town Hall.
The elegant Avon Room provided the perfect setting to welcome Sothys enthusiasts from across New Zealand, bringing together a wonderful mix of loyal stockists, clients, past and present team members, family, friends and colleagues. Some had travelled from afar, while others were reconnecting after many years, all united by their shared connection to this iconic French skincare brand.
The evening was not only a celebration of Sothys' extraordinary history, but also a tribute to the people and relationships that have shaped its journey in New Zealand.
Formalities were kept to a minimum, allowing guests to relax, reminisce and enjoy the occasion. Director Jean-Michel Tallott raised a toast to the brand's enduring legacy, followed by Anne Marie de Spa, the woman who first introduced Sothys to New Zealand 38 years ago cutting the cake.
A fascinating display of historic Sothys products offered guests a nostalgic journey through the decades, highlighting the brand's evolution and the innovation that continues to define it today.
As champagne flowed, stories were shared and memories rekindled, the celebrations continued well into the evening. Local band Old Skool kept the dance floor buzzing, while a roving photographer captured the laughter, friendships and special moments that made the occasion so memorable.
More than simply an anniversary celebration, the evening was a heartfelt acknowledgement of the loyalty, passion and lasting relationships behind Sothys' success in New Zealand.
